Taryn is a Zoonotic and Vector-borne Disease Epidemiologist for the Indiana State Department of Health. Based out of Indianapolis, Taryn's main responsibility is to examine diseases at a population level in order to treat and prevent future
outbreaks. Working with zoonotic diseases (from close contact with animals) and vector-borne (from flea and tick bites), Taryn analyzes data from health labs to track down cases of her assigned diseases in the state. After investigating the
individual case, she will decide whether or not this is a contained case or the start of an outbreak that will require county or state level support.

Son is an Oculoplastic Surgeon at the Veterans Administration in Orlando, FL. His main responsibility is diagnosing and treating eye diseases in his patients, all veterans of the US military. Son also has a subspecialty of oculoplastic surgery, both
cosmetic operations and reconstructions due to cancer. Son walks us through a typical diagnosis as well as a cataract surgery that requires all four of the surgeon's limbs to be working in unison!

Naomi is a Genetic Counselor at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Based out of Boston, MA, Naomi's career is at the intersection of genetics and therapy; talking to her patients about their risk and treatment options for genetic
conditions. Counseling can start as early as pre-natal, offering expectant parents the options to test their pregnancy for Down Syndrome and any other genetic condition that may run in their family.

Susan has served as a Science Reference Librarian at Salisbury University for several years. She initially wanted to go into the field of marine biology; however, she found that she enjoyed research and problem solving itself during an internship.
According to Susan, any 'librarian' is currently in high demand. An individual can graduate with any degree and still chose to become a librarian, a path that is 'easy and enjoyable.' Susan states that librarianship requires
multitasking and critical thinking, but is also very rewarding.

to become a veterinarian. The medical field of veterinary science is very competitive as there as only twenty eight veterinary schools in the United States. According to her, the work is very strenuous, whether it be examining animals or interacting
with customers due to the business aspect of the practice. However, the tough road to becoming a veterinarian is worth is the reward of helping animals stay healthy.
Tiffany is a Veterinarian with Freeland Animal Hospital in Indianapolis. With a focus on cats and dogs, Tiffany handles everything from healthy vaccine appointments for puppies to emergency surgical procedures. The practice as a whole has a larger
emphasis on preventative maintenance and Tiffany shares some of the things they routinely look for, from general slowing down and eating habits to the diseases typical for that breed.
