>> I decided to be a lawyer after undergrad, but
knowing that I wanted to go to graduate school.
You know, I had-- you know, whether I wanted
to go to graduate school for psychology or law
or medicine I was kind of-- I was taking
a year off to try to get, you know,
get my thoughts together and just, you
know, decide what I wanted to pursue.
And I started working for a Fortune 500
company that was launching a new product
and I was a customer service representative
and some issues came up and I started working
with our legal department to resolve those and
that's what, you know, steered me into the law.
Well, the career services office
at our law school, you know,
they put out a weekly newsletter, if you
will, showing you what employers had interest
in hiring student interns or law clerks and,
you know, the very first summer I clerked
with a smaller firm that did civil
litigation on the plaintiff side.
They did some defense work, but it was
more geared toward plaintiffs work.
Then the next-- the second summer I clerked
with the Air Force JAG and the firm I'm
with now, Daniel, Coker, Horton & Bell.
So, I clerked six weeks at Daniel, Coker
and then eight weeks with the Air Force JAG.
Then after I, you know, did
that, I was offered jobs
with both prior to graduating from law school.
