>> I'm originally from Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Born and raised, an Ol' Miss guy.
Ol' Miss family.
Came to school originally in '85.
Kind of hit that burnout point that I'm
sure 90% of your college students do.
Had an opportunity to go to work for Archer
Daniels Midland, which was a good company.
I had a good job.
Then a few years into that, my dad had started
a drive-in long-haul trucking business.
I went into business with him.
He had growth opportunities.
We went from 15 truck to about
150 trucks in a very short time.
My wife and I were living in Oxford at the time.
I was commuting to Clarksdale 60 miles
away every day, and I took the opportunity
to start night school, then take
a day course here and there.
Being in my own business, it did allow me the
freedom to kind of adjust my schedule as needed,
and oh, I guess four years down the road, I
just quit altogether and finished that last 15
to 18 hours cold turkey and went through the
process of interviews, career fairs, interviews,
and that's where I met Consolidated
Electrical Distributors
on an interview here at the career center.
