>> I graduated from Ol' Miss in 2010 with
a undergraduate degree in accounting.
I always knew that was something
that I was interested in.
I took accounting in high school, and it was
just something, I guess I'm a nerd like that.
I always knew that was something I felt like
I would succeed in, and just the thought
of everything balancing out and
tying just really appealed to me,
and so I knew that was what
I wanted to major in.
So I graduated with an undergraduate degree.
My senior year of my undergraduate, I interned
at a local accounting firm in Memphis.
At the time it was called Thompson-Dunavant.
They've since been acquired,
and now they're CBIZ,
but I got an offer from them before I graduated.
So it was nice coming out of undergrad knowing
that I had a job full time
when I got out of grad school.
So after the internship was over, I finished
up my senior year, came back to Ol' Miss
for grad school and got a master's in
tax, and after I graduated from that,
I came back to Memphis and
started working at CBIZ.
Worked there for about two years.
Was able to get a lot of experience
in several different opportunities.
I worked on partnerships,
individuals, corporations,
and so it kind of gave me a broad range of
the different things that I could work on
and gave me an idea of what I might like best.
I kind of used it as a springboard
to jump to international paper.
I had met everyone in the tax
department, and I thought that, you know,
it helps if you like the
people you're working with.
So I felt like I fit in well,
and I enjoyed the work.
There was always something new and exciting
that they had going on, and so I got an offer
from them about two years into my career at
CBIZ and decided to go ahead and pursue that,
and I've been there about a year and a half now.
