>> Well, I've always had a
business savvy sense about me.
I knew journalism was my thing from a little
girl as well, but I never tapped-- I never--
I wish I had studied business when I was here
at Penn State because even as a little girl--
like my mom lives in New York in Manhattan.
And her building probably
has over 1,000 apartments.
And as a little girl, I remember
thinking, everyone in here has a dog
and everyone has a kid or they have both.
And as a little girl I thought
there was money to be made
in that building and I sure did do that.
I walked dogs and I was babysitting.
And, you know, in high school
I had my own money.
My mom never had to give me money.
I bought my own clothes.
I paid for my phone bill.
I was always, you know, business savvy.
Always doing something from I was a little girl.
And so for me, it just naturally came to do
the same thing eventually as I got older.
Like, I knew that owning
my own thing was important.
I think a lot of us strive to kind of just
work for a company but sometimes it's okay,
you can own the jewelry that you like.
You can own that sneaker company.
You don't just have to play for the
basketball team, you can also own it.
So that's very important to me and
that's, you know, what I strive to do.
