>> My name is Sherri Rice.
I current work for Penn State University.
I work for career services.
I'm the career fair coordinator.
Really what that entails is I either oversee
or plan or implement the career fairs
that we have here at career services.
The two largest are fall career
days and spring career days.
Fall career days typically has over 500
employers, and spring career days has about 300.
And then we have a lot of more multiple
targeted career fairs that are a little smaller
such as an education career fair,
graduate and professional school week.
But really what I do is I'm
the behind the scenes person.
I'm the one that really does the
logistics and the planning and making sure
that we have everything ready to go.
All the employers are taken care of.
They have everything they need.
And really that kind of behind the
scenes person that gets everything ready.
Really it actually takes a longer time
than I think anyone really realizes just
because you have to be booking
spaces, making sure you have places
for everything, time for employers to register.
Actually just yesterday we were going over the
website for our fall career days because we had
to make registration live on
our website by April 15th.
We like that date.
It's tax day.
It's easy to remember.
It's easy for the employers to remember.
But we have to do that so early
because many employers have to know
where their expenses are going to lie.
What career fairs they're
going to be able to attend
and not attend financially and timeline wise.
So, a lot of that kind of back end, you know,
getting the website ready,
testing the registration form.
That goes on early.
Booking the space.
And then also just, you know, making sure
every employer has the proper amount of booths,
how many interviews they want,
making sure there's places for them
to stay, getting hotel room blocks.
You know, any of those kind
of behind the scenes things.
