>> So my name is Connor Michay [assumed
spelling], and I work at Unilever
as a transportation operations specialist.
So my role within transportation,
as an operations specialists,
involves being the liaison between our
procurement and operations departments.
So what that means is a work to carry out
our overall transportation strategy and work
with our third-party logistics suppliers to make
sure that they have all the tools, knowledge,
and understanding in order to work
with Unilever and meet the stated KPIs
or key performance indicators
that we lay out for them.
A typical day is really tough
to put a finger on.
That's something that I really
like about the role.
There's always a new challenge
within transportation and logistics,
and it requires a lot of collaboration within
the internal teams that we have a Unilever.
So it's tough to say exactly, this is what I do,
but some of my biggest responsibilities involve
working with our third-party logistics provides
to make sure that they are meeting their metrics
and whether that be through facilitating weekly,
monthly, or quarterly calls
to review their performance.
Yeah, one of the very neat things that
Unilever has is the ability to work from home,
and we even have 12 days throughout the year
called sustainability days where we are able
to work from home to offset the emissions
from driving into work that days.
Those are actually paired around
most of the major holidays.
So it really gives you the opportunity
to travel and spend time with family,
whether that be the way you want to utilize
them, and then, in addition to that,
we also have alternative work arrangements.
So given, you know, that you're meeting all
of your performance requirements at work,
you can work with your manager to
set aside a particular day a week
where you'll be working from home.
So again, part of the company's
sustainability push.
It's very flexible.
I noticed that as I became more with
my role, I actually work longer hours,
but Unilever does do a really good job at
trying to help you balance the demands at work
and then your life outside of Unilever.
