I've interviewed many recent graduates
that think they're going to make $20,
$30, $40 an hour once they graduate.
In some areas, that is feasible.
But, for most areas, that's not going to happen.
And, in all honesty, you're going to annoy
people if you have those expectations
because there is that perception
that you have to pay your dues.
You may have an excellent education, but,
you still have to get that work experience.
And, you have to start somewhere.
If you know you want to get into a certain field
that is hard to get into like HRPR, marketing,
advertising, maybe start with an internship.
If you want to have a job that's paid, then,
you're going to have to start somewhere.
So, it might not be your ideal
pay rate or benefit rate.
But, start there.
And, eventually you'll climb up the ladder.
So, don't be upset if you're not starting
at the rate you thought you were going to,
grant it, don't work for nothing.
But, you know, you have to start somewhere.
And, if you pay your dues,
it will come back tenfold.
