>> Examine what it is that
you think you are good at.
Examine your personal gifts and
focus on trying to utilize those.
If they were coming into my field, it's
very important to be a very good listener.
And you really have to empathize with people.
In other words, we all know
people that you're talking to
and you can just tell they're not listening.
You really have to care about people.
And, again, it gets back to the age-old
teaching, love your neighbor as yourself.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
What you have to do is you have to picture
yourself on the other side of the desk.
In other words, if someone comes to see me,
one of the first things I try to do is I try
to picture what it must be like to be them;
and understand that maybe they don't know
about their financial future,
and they have concerns.
And what you want to try to do is talk to
them the way you'd want to be spoken to.
And not only that but you have to eat your
own cooking, I think, in any business.
So before I start to buy anything for people,
I always make sure that I own it myself
because that way I know all the ins and outs.
I tend to be a little bit of a perfectionist.
So, if I own it and it's good for myself, then
I have no problem buying it for someone else.
