>> Since I began practicing law I would say
that the first 17 or 18 years as a Litigator
in Federal Court every day was different,
exciting, hectic, and immensely challenging
because as a Litigator I found that, especially
as I represented various government entities
in Pennsylvania, that no two
problems, no two clients were alike.
And so I really had to use the
skills that I had developed,
both the interpersonal skills I developed as a
Temple undergrad and as a Temple law student,
as well as the skills I had
developed as an academic at Temple.
I think the foundation that I received at
Temple was an absolute excellent preparation
for those jobs that I held because
in both positions I had to be open
and listen to a variety of people.
I had to listen carefully to my clients.
I had to consider the public
interests each time I made a decision.
I had to deal with courts at every
level, the Federal Court level,
including the Supreme Court
of the United States.
And I think that the sound
preparation I received at Temple Law,
both with the personalities that were found
among the student body and the faculty,
really gave me a strong skillset
to deal with those issues.
