>> Hello. My name is [inaudible], and I'm the
CEO and co-founder of whoisyourlandlord.com.
And the name uses-- that's a form of the word
who because we're giving renters ownership
of the situation by putting housing
in their hands, being able for renters
to rate their landlords and
their housing complexes.
All right.
Our mission is to create transparency and
more accountability between landlords,
between tenants, and between
property management companies.
The reason being is that a lot of
real estate websites, companies--
things that are going on right now are all
based on kind of a positive look at everything.
Right? Where it's all skewed towards who
is making the money at the end of it.
If I'm posting a house, you never really hear
the poor parts about it or you don't hear like--
you only hear the decent parts about it.
It's rarely information coming from your peers.
It's more so coming from
the person selling you it,
which is always going to
sound rosy and glorious.
And so to be able to hear candid
information from your peers,
from those that rented before
you, good, bad, ugly,
it's very helpful to what you're
decision-making process is like.
We always encourage people just to post
ratings, you know, as they see fit.
We encourage landlords to get their-- and
property management to get their tenants
to post, especially if they feel
like they're doing a great job
but also just people that's
inherently just coming to the site
because they want an opportunity to vent or
to highlight someone who has done a great job.
And so it works both ways.
And so the question begins [inaudible].
You know, the beauty of it is-- we look
at companies like at Yelp for example,
like an Angie's List, and something that
they've done really well is integrate both the
interpersonal side of it as well
as the actual business of it.
And so-- what I mean by that is
we have the ratings and the--
that's what you come to our website for.
We also will be adding listing to
our website so that landlords can pay
to have their listings up on our website.
And those that do well and do moderately
well can now have another advantage
of post their available listings.
And the renters can now see them as
well so that's how we make money.
