>> It takes a lot of patience to be successful
in my career area, in sales management really,
the patience aspect can't be overstated and
for me, you know, being on the younger end
as a manager, I, it's something I struggle
with, it's something I work on, but its,
at the same time you need to have
the patience and see the big picture.
That it takes time, it takes time to develop
people, it takes time to develop processes
and find out what works and what
doesn't, and then even when you do,
there's constant change going on around
you, whether it's due to promotion,
due to just internal shifts in the
organization, and being able to be patient
through those changes is really something
that I think it takes to be successful.
You have to be able to do that,
and also to be able to adapt,
and it goes back to basic Darwinism.
The strongest don't survive, the ones that are
able to resist change and ultimately make it
through change, and that's something that it
takes to be successful, in any career field,
especially one in the technology sphere with
the way organizations are changing today.
You have to be able to adapt to that change and
ultimately be a chameleon within your own role.
