>> What I love about City Air is one, how
strong the culture is, two being able to work
with students and campuses
in the way that I am now.
It's so inspiring.
I'm meeting some amazing young people who are
ready to change the world and build themselves
as professionals and are not afraid to get in
there and do a tough job but see the reward
and how they can really change the world
or meeting people on campuses who want more
for their students and are trying to find
lots of resources, especially career centers
who are looking for really diverse opportunities
for their students and it's just an exciting,
as I said my day is just different every day
and it's just exciting never really having the
same day every day, meeting different people,
introducing the opportunity through City
Air to people or even when I talk to people
in the community who have never heard about it.
They get excited and they want City Air there
and I'm like we're going to get there one day.
So I just love how it is a community builder,
how it is a presence in the community
across the country but also how if you
say you want something be very careful
because City Air will help
you get it in the sense
of professional development and just support.
Challenges are we're not everywhere yet.
So for example I recruit mostly in Orange
County and San Diego County and we're not
in Orange County or San Diego County yet for
service, so when I do have amazing opportunity
of connecting with community
partners and officials they're
like "Oh, when is City Air coming here?"
So a challenge is being able to
explain that although we're not here
yet we are making a great impact where we
are and eventually, hopefully we can get here
to the students that need us most.
Another challenge is really
getting the word out about City Air.
Everyone kind of knows the
other service organizations
but they're not really sure what City Air is or
what it does so being able to get that awareness
and branding out that there is this
opportunity for people to get involved.
My work does follow me home.
I am mobile as far as how I work.
I'm usually in the field so sometimes
if I am home during work
sometimes maybe it is an extension
of the day or how I'm starting my day.
And then sometimes I work on weekends so
I'll just fill out my day to make eight hours
but then I also am if I'm
thinking about something
in that moment I also want to get it done.
If I could change anything about City Air
it would be that I mean slow growth is great
but I want every student
that needs us to have us.
So if I could change anything it would be that
we were everywhere that we were needed right now
which will require many more soldiers
on the field making that work happen.
So if I could definitely change anything
it would be I just want to quickly get
to our ultimate goal of being next
to every student that needs us.
