>> My name is Beverles Jenkins.
I actually wear a few hats at the same time.
I am a DOD Government Finance
subject-matter expert.
I also host an Entrepreneur and
Financial Leadership training program.
I also work with CDC's, helping
with community development.
DOD, being a Government Finance
subject-matter expert, I work with their budgets
and their financial management systems.
I work with procurement and acquisitions as
well as budget execution part of the government,
handling the finances between government
contractors and the government.
So basically the government needs a good
or service, and they solicit assistance
from several different type contractors.
And so when the contractors get the awards,
they make a deal and execute the provisions
of the contract; and I make
sure on the financial end
that all have been done in the proper manner.
I also have, how can I forget,
Hot Wings on the Run.
This actually is the reason why I
felt qualified, or so I've been told,
to head an Entrepreneurship
Financial Literacy program.
These sauces, Hot Wings on the Run,
are -- this is one of my hot sauces,
it's called BJ's Wild and Crazy Sauce.
And I have a motto on all of my sauces.
This particular one reads, You've got
to be crazy to like this hot sauce.
Which is composed of Scotch Bonnets and
peppers and ghost peppers; it's pretty hot.
I actually have it manufactured in
Pennsylvania; and they do a wonderful job,
and they are very careful in how they
process it, the same as I would do.
Except I could not make that
many bottles of sauces from home.
So I'm really having fun with it, and it's
opened the door to meet people from all over.
And one thing I have gathered is a lot of
people want to start their own business,
and a lot of people out there want to
know how to handle their finances better.
Finances tie in very much in entrepreneurship;
you've got to know how to manage your money
if you're going to start a business.
