>> What I love most about what I'm doing
is definitely the internship program.
Working with students; it's something
that's really gratifying for me.
I was lucky enough to actually work
for the department that I work for now.
When I was a student, I was one
of the first graph designers
that was hired by our department.
And it kind of gives me an opportunity
to kind of give back in that same way.
So the opportunities that
I had to learn in this kind
of real-world way I can give
that back to new students.
And I can give that back to more students.
And over the last few years that's
kind of been the most gratifying part.
You know, bringing students in.
Working with them.
Getting them prepared to go out and then
kind of seeing where they go from there.
So right now one of our students
is in Hong Kong.
He's going to be getting a job at Yelp.
And, you know, we're really excited to see,
you know, where all of our students are going.
The most challenging part - so at the
same time it's working with the students.
So working around students' schedules.
Working around the limitation
of either their skill set.
Teaching them the things that the
need to learn in order to be able
to do what you're asking them
to do or be able to help you
with what you're asking them to help you with.
As well kind of activating them to kind of feel
like they can take more ownership over some
of the projects that they're working on.
One of the biggest problems that you find
when you're working on marketing; unless,
they have a direct relationship with whatever
the product service, event you're pushing is,
they may not feel that same
connection that the planner may.
And so one of our biggest challenges is
kind of getting them on board with it.
Getting them to understand like that they really
have an opportunity to make this project theirs.
