>> I think if you're a person
who is particularly detail oriented
you have to be a very hard worker.
Think smart really helps.
Someone who is a problem solver, and I
think it is also very helpful to be good
with people whether or not you're a
transactional attorney or a litigator.
I think a lot of people think litigators
you have to really be high energy,
but even in transactional work it's good to
have people skills as well, because you're going
to be working with clients a lot.
Try and decide what area you want to focus
on in advance, but in the real world,
I think it happens that you
sort of fall into your area.
To be honest, I didn't really know what
commercial litigation was when I interviewed
for my current position, and it is-- it ended up
being something that I do really enjoy working
with businesses, so I don't know
that you necessarily can exactly plan
out in advance what area of law you might end
up in, and that's something I hear all the time.
