>> I think that one thing that can't be
ignored is talent, and that is something
that I do believe people are born with.
However, I wish I could remember
the exact definition.
I love [inaudible] definition of talent.
It's basically just, she describes it as just
like a really high sensitivity, really high use
and ability to use your sensory equipment
in exploring the world around you.
Like a really highly sensitive person.
Like being really in tune
to the energy in the world.
And that, I think, cannot be taught, but I
think that if you possess that, everything else,
all of the skill necessary,
you have to learn it.
It involves a lot of research.
A lot, a lot of research.
We have to research things about our
character, we have to research things
about the time period, political climate.
Just you name it.
Everything we have to research to understand
what's going on and what's around us
because in our daily lives we
understand a certain amount
of things because we are who we are.
We don't have to think about it, you know.
But when we're given a character,
we have to find out everything
about this soul so that we can bring it to life.
And for each role, it's different.
Networking is always key.
A lot of the time, young actors
don't realize that it's more often
about who you know as opposed
to what you can do.
A lot of really young talented actors
come, but I'm talented, hire me.
You know, and it's, like,
yeah, everybody's talented.
There are a lot of talented people.
So networking is key.
Making sure that you are maintaining
nice, healthy relationships
with the people that you meet in the industry.
