>> It was part of a five-year process.
I really had no idea what I wanted to
do, starting in 2008 when I got here.
I came in as an Aces student, undecided Aces.
And I took a lot of different roles.
I took a lot of different classes.
I had a lot of different majors.
I started out being engineering, and I hated it.
I'm not a math guy.
I can't handle all the number crunching and
all the physics involved with engineering.
So I changed to geology.
I thought I would, you know,
want to be out in the field,
work with the earth and do
all that kind of stuff.
But then I looked at the job market for
geologists, and you've got to move out far west,
far west and look for oil and stuff like that.
And that wasn't really working
out for me either.
Then I turned to biology.
I really enjoy biology.
I did that for about a year and a half,
and I found out that I really
didn't want to be a doctor.
I didn't want to do a PA, and that I
really didn't want to really do research.
I enjoyed the subject matter, but
I didn't see myself doing the job.
So then I turned to economics.
It was an overall business major that I enjoyed.
It gave me all the aspects.
I took a little bit of business
administration courses as well.
And then I graduated in May 2013.
I knew that I had the job
offer before I graduated.
I accepted the job probably about two to three
weeks before finals, just so I had job security.
I knew that eventually loans
were going to be coming up due,
and I knew I wanted to have something lined up.
I didn't want to be, you know, putzing
around, looking for a job in the summer,
when basically everyone's basically filled up.
So I took the job.
And transitioning was hard.
I'll tell you that much.
Getting up at 5:45 when you're
normally sleeping in until, you know,
9:30, is a whole different process.
