>> My name is Kevin Murillo [phonetic].
I'm a Senior Consultant at Tallan.
We are custom development
firm in the Rocky Hill area.
We serve Hartford, you know,
most of Connecticut, Boston,
New York, Florida, and California.
As far as my day to day, I consult with many
different companies across a range of industries
from healthcare to government
and, you know, private companies.
And I serve mainly to help companies kind
of solve issues whether it's software
development related, business analysis related,
and pretty much they need that
involves IT and software development.
Right now I have a lot of healthcare clients,
and I deal a lot with HIPAA standards.
So we are a Microsoft Gold partner.
So we deal a lot with the .NET stack.
And personally I use Microsoft BizTalk Server.
And we deal a lot with HIPAA standards
for EDI, Electronic Data Interchange.
And we have a big push right now to implement
a lot of the Affordable Care Act provisions
that are coming into effect next year.
So working with a lot of
different state agencies.
I am across the U.S. right
now to implement those.
And that's just a small portion of what we do.
Yeah, busy days normally first, you
know, meet up with my team, you know,
and kind of getting status from everybody, you
know, figuring out what impediments there are
as far as everybody else's
day to day as well as mind.
You know, clearing as many
impediments as we can.
And then also meeting with clients, you know,
status meetings, kind of getting a sense
for what they would like to
accomplish during any given day.
Sometimes it's a weekly thing,
sometimes it's a daily thing.
And then, you know, usually it's
several hours of good development time.
You know, if you're lucky sometimes
you are stuck in a lot of meetings,
but that's just part of the game of consulting.
And, you know, you're always available for
any conversations or emails or, you know,
screen sharing that a company might need.
And, you know, generally that pretty
much takes the entire day just
between developing and meeting with clients.
So literally I work a lot with, you know,
Visual Studio, the entire Microsoft Platform.
So that generally involves either
making websites or designing databases,
implementing databases, you know, creating
software as, you know, it could be whether,
it could be like desktop applications.
It could be mobile applications.
It could be, you know, websites integration
and that's mainly what I deal with day to day,
you know, actually writing code
as opposed to just, you know,
creating documents, stuck in that all day.
Normally I have two or three clients.
And it ranges within the company.
You know, different consultants have a
different number of clients depending
on how much work there is, you know, per client.
And that might take you, you know, where you're
travelling on a daily basis to the client
or you might be in one of
our offices [inaudible].
And, you know, we have a broad
range of whether you're, you know,
at home or in your office or at a client.
So it's essentially what the client dictates.
Some clients require that you be
there because they like the piece
of mind to have somebody on site.
Whereas others kind of, they don't have the
space and they don't have the time to, you know,
babysit a consultant, which is great for us
because with very little direction, you know,
we could kind of hit the ground running.
And a lot of clients they like that.
And that's why they choose us.
