>> What I love about my career is that in the
hotel business we're in the people's business.
And we are serving people.
So I tend to be on the real estate side of
things, which I find interesting as well
because it takes me to different cities and
different parts of the country and the world.
And real estate is a tangible thing.
But first and foremost being on the hotel side
of the real estate business it is a
really dynamic interesting business
because it is service oriented
and involves lots of people.
Some of the challenges of my career
would be that it is demanding and that
within the real estate sector, hospitality
tends to be a volatile industry because we,
in a hotel, you sell room
nights on a daily basis.
If you don't see it it's a perishable good.
You can't sell a room night
you didn't sell yesterday.
So as a result it is very much
subject to the general economy.
And it will have its ups and downs.
Now I see there within those challenges
lie the opportunities as well.
So I guess I am a bit of an optimist.
But it can be challenging.
And when times are slow, times
are really slow in this business.
