>> When you get out in the working world,
my overall piece of advice is
to always do a little bit more.
Right? Put in, you know, make sure
you have work/life balance, of course.
But always try to do a little
bit more for your boss.
Go the little bit extra mile.
Put in the right amount of effort.
Be willing to listen and understand and be open
to what people are telling you to other ideas
and just as a way to try to
help make yourself successful.
And when you start to get into business,
you know, be very open and understanding of,
you know, how other parts of the business work
and as you, you know, go through a variety
of roles, maybe if there's something else, you
need to be the driver and owner of your career.
And if there is something that you want to do
in the organization, maybe it's a side step
or if you're in supply chain planning
and you want to get into procurement,
you may not have the experience that somebody
coming in from the outside might have to get
into that particular job opening.
So my suggestion to you is while
you're inside of a company,
when you have the opportunity, get on projects.
Work with folks in that other part of the
organization so that they get to know you.
So even though you may not have the direct
skills to be in that role, if they know you
and they trust you and they've worked
with you on projects, they may be willing
to take a little bit of an extra risk
and bring you into that role knowing
that how you've worked in the past and
how willing you are to learn and do
and tackle things and may be willing
to take you over somebody coming
in from the outside with more experience.
