>> Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
This is Kaitlyn.
I'm Kaitlyn Lebanon [assumes spelling].
I work for Big Brothers, Big
Sisters, Southeastern Pennsylvania.
We're a mentoring organization.
We work in the greater Philadelphia
area to match children with a mentor.
Oftentimes, we match high risk children to
mentors in successful corporations and stuff.
I'm a school-based program coordinator.
So school based consists of beyond school
walls programs which is when a classroom
of children go to corporations and
meet their bigs there and have lunch.
We have onsite programs which
is where professionals go
to the schools to meet with their littles.
And then we have college bigs
which is self-explanatory.
Kids in college are mentoring
children in elementary schools
and they go during lunch to meet with them.
I interview bigs and littles
first and then I make the matches.
Then I run the beyond school walls
program so I pick out activities and I,
you know, get the kids to the program.
And then I also do match support
which is kind of our bread and butter.
It's how we make sure that
matches are happy and effective
and that everyone feels like
they're on the same page.
So that takes up a good chunk of my time.
Usually it's 9 to 5 which is nice.
I rarely am here super late
and, you know, 9 to 5, 10 to 6.
On days when I have a program I
usually head out to the school
like around 10 or 11 depending on where it is.
And then I run the program.
I take the kids, get them on the
bus, go to the corporation, you know,
run an activity, get the kids back.
Or if I'm just in the office like I will be
today, make a lot of calls, do match support,
just make sure I'm talking to
a lot of people and making sure
that they're happy and everyone's safe.
