>> I got into teaching because I really wanted
to make a difference in children's lives.
I grew up having that school in my basement.
I just always wanted to be a teacher,
and I still want to make that
difference in kids' lives.
But I also want to make a
difference in the lives of teachers.
And I love working with future teachers,
and I love working with current teachers,
and I love working with administrators.
So I really feel like I can
have a role and an influence
in shaping their professional learning,
and making sure that their voices are heard
because I felt like sometimes mine was
silenced as a teacher and I didn't want that.
I think teachers have a voice.
They have a right to be able to speak
and their voices need to be heard.
I think it's also really, you know
relationships are at the heart of what we do.
But relationships are hard.
You know there's a huge emotional
component to it.
Just building relationships
and making connections among
people can be quite challenging.
So that's, it's rewarding but at the
same time really difficult to do.
