>> So, I came to Penn State.
I graduated from Belfonce [phonetic]
High School, came to Penn State.
I started in the Biology department.
So I received my Bachelor's in Biology
and then I received a Chemistry Minor
and then mathematics in the lab.
My idea was sort of to go and become
a professor of some sort of academia,
and that was sort of what I was
interested in but then I went to -
okay, so I complete the school here.
I applied to a bunch of various places and
some medical schools, some PH.D. Programs,
etc. The one that had the best offer
in my opinion hands down was UCLA.
So, I went and got my Ph.D. at UCLA for Medical
and Molecular Biology, and
did some postdoctoral work.
I would sail a little bit there but then I moved
to Chicago, did some postdoctoral work there.
Then it appeared that the
family business needed my help.
So, I went to -- came back to Pennsylvania,
in Pittsburgh, and then thought, "Heh,
why don't I go get a Business
Degree while I'm at it."
So, I went part-time.
I went to Carnegie Mellon and got a
Master's in Business Administration,
and I should be graduating
in three weeks, four weeks.
Something like that, I'll have my Master's.
But the whole idea was to come back and
take some of my scientific knowledge,
the other skills I learned, and then apply it
to the family business, and
I think that's worked out.
So, I think its actually the
principles I learned at Penn State.
It gave me a solid foundation from which
I can build upon my Master's, my PH.D.,
and then have that analytic mind
and problem solving skills to apply
to a business on a day to day basis.
