>> I really have a strong passion for mental
health because when I was in high school,
my father actually committed
suicide when I was 17.
So having experienced somebody who was
going through a depression or you know,
some other type of mental health illness,
personally really affected me and made me want
to become actively involved in you
know, whatever I could do to prevent
that from happened to people in the future.
And I'm usually really touched when I do these
presentations and there are men in the audience
because that's where I feel --
I mean the highest rate of suicide
is amongst white, Protestant males.
And that's what my dad was.
He was 53 when he committed suicide.
So you know, that was really the reason why I
wanted to get involved and made a difference.
