>> Hi, my name is Michael Antonetti.
I'm the Senior Management Director
of Marketing for GE Capital Americas.
My job really consists of a
number of different things.
But in short, it's really about all the
customer facing marketing activities
for GE Capital Americas.
So it includes things like our consulting
services, new product development,
our strategic accounts and cross sell
initiatives, as well as our customer insights.
The thing I love about my job there
really is no such thing as a typical day.
But we try and do some of the same things
in the same way every week in order
to create an operating rhythm
within our business.
So as an example, a typical Monday
is you get up early in the morning.
You take a look at really what's
happened over the weekend.
And we start with a growth form which
really looks at key metrics and measurements
within the business just to
see how things are performing.
What types of sales have come in.
What types of deals have closed.
How our profitability is looking.
And how we are positioned
ourselves for continued growth.
We don't really have set hours where you need to
be in, you know, at 8:00 and then leave by 5:00.
So rather the hours really shift depending
on the type of work that's involved.
So it's not uncommon to, you know, come in
early or stay late, but when you get away
on those Friday afternoons, it's
okay to sneak out a little bit early.
And in fact our company allows
that in the summer.
It's just an initiative that
are called summer hours.
The hours I think vary day-to-day.
We don't really have set hours where you
would come in at 8:00 and leave at 5:00.
Rather the hours change based
upon the work that's involved
in the deliverables that you've committed to.
One of the great things about our company
is that we do have a flexible work schedule.
On Fridays as an example during
the summer, we have summer hours.
So you know, every Friday they allow us to
leave at 2 p.m., which is just a great way
to get a good jump on the weekend.
Typically I try to work from home on Fridays.
Monday through Thursday I'm
on the road a fair amount.
In my role within strategic marketing
I do a fair amount of traveling
out with customers doing high profile
events, and also I give back in certain ways.
And this is one of the ways here at
Penn State that I do exactly that.
So I also serve as GE's campus
recruiting leader here at Penn State.
