>> I don't care what business that you're
in, you know like my husband's in business
and he's got his MBA and I think what I've
always learned in watching him in his business,
his line of work it has to do with
communication skills number 1.
And it's not even so much
it's your ability to speak
but your ability to listen to other people.
I think that's the crux of anything.
It's very few professions or work you can do
without having interacted with other people
and to get communication on
some level, so that's essential.
I think the ability to understand that there
are ideas that are around you all the time.
It's a matter of kind of listening and keeping
track of those and seeing if there's something
that you can make out of that
idea if you're interested in that.
Those would be the two main
things I don't care what you do.
I think those are essential is being
able to have those communication skills
and be able to network with other people.
I just think you have to have that in yourself.
However people can develop that you know
whether that's taking actual courses to develop
that more or doing Toastmaster
classes or what have you.
Forcing yourself if you're kind of shy
or got out there and be around a groups
because that's how you network to
get jobs, that's how you can network
for the people to help them get work.
I've hired a lot of people
through that kind of networking.
So that would be my recommendation to
any student and to just not stay close
into one small circle, Because you never
know when that circle is going to collapse
if it's a certain kind of
employment, broaden yourself.
