>> College?
I went to Benedict College
in Columbia, South Carolina.
I got a Bachelor -- BS in Biology.
Dental school Ohio State.
You know, get what's called a DDS.
Some people don't know some dentists
you'll see DDS behind their name,
some of them you'll see DMD.
That's really a regional thing.
It's all the same thing.
Dental school, I had a -- I have a cousin
that was a dentist in South Carolina.
I moved from Brooklyn to South Carolina
and hated South Carolina,
wanted to leave immediately.
Stayed, you know, finished my
last two years of high school.
Graduated, went back to New York and just got a
job working grounds keeping and doing nothing.
Running around in circles doing nothing.
Came back to South Carolina in
the spring and the same cousin was
like I want you to just go to school.
You know you can go to school if you want.
Like in high school I stunk
it up in high school.
I was like bottom of the class.
I didn't really -- like I was one of
those kids who could just kind of show up
and I could probably pass without
-- really reading the books, like.
I tell my wife all the time, like, I don't
really remember if was able to bring books
from high school because I don't remember
ever bringing books from high school,
but I was able to get through easy.
You know. So I was like I know I could do
-- like I graduated probably at the class
but still thought I was the smartest kid.
You know, I was one of those guys.
When I decided to go to college I
had this cousin who was a dentist.
He was always the one, you
know, you have a mentor.
Oh, why don't you do this?
Why don't you do that?
They tell you all these different
things that you can do with your life.
But the person -- the people
that are kind of closest to you
in that circle are the ones you're
like, okay I see what you do.
I understand what you're trying
to tell me to do but I kind
of see what you do and that seems pretty cool.
Maybe I'll do that.
And so when I got to college I was
like I'm going to go to dental school
because Thomas went to dental school.
That might seem like a good idea.
And then halfway through college
you're like okay, you know,
you start getting great grades
and, you know, applying myself.
I'm like I probably could do whatever I want
but I like the idea of working for myself.
I like working with my hands.
It seemed like a good way to
go so I stuck with it and...
