>> I'm a member of a family that lived
on a farm outside of Erie, Pennsylvania.
I was the first one in my
family to go to college.
And I went to Behrend Campus up in Erie,
Pennsylvania for 2 years while I worked 2
full time jobs to get myself through college.
And then I went on to, I
came down to University Park
where I finished up my undergraduate degree.
I changed my major a few times, but ended
up in finance in the business school.
Which wasn't called Smeal, at the time.
And then I started with IBM.
And after I joined IBM, I went
back to school while I was working
for IBM full time and went to a get my MBA.
And I literally went across the street in
Youngstown, Ohio to Youngstown State University.
My boss at the time was great to
give me the chance to go take classes
in an MBA program at the
same time I was working.
So I could do it almost any time of the day.
And before I finished my MBA at
Youngstown State, I was promoted, I think,
for the third time at that
point in my career to Detroit.
So then I went to Detroit,
continued my education
at Wayne State University where
I finished and got my MBA.
