>> I'm the President and CEO of the
Newseum and the Freedom Forum, and we --
it's an organization that really
is geared to educate the public
about the constitutional freedoms and the
First Amendment and Freedom of the Press.
It's everything from managing the operations
here at the Newseum, and running everything
from our budget to coordinating among our
exhibit people and our curators as to the kinds
of exhibits we're going to utilize, and
then the programming that we're going
to put on and host here at the Newseum.
Some of our main features include
a piece of the Berlin Wall,
which we really demonstrates very clearly
the differences in the kinds of governments
in the world from the United States Government,
where there are freedoms that we can enjoy,
to what occurred in East Germany,
where liberties were thwarted,
and that piece of the Berlin Wall
really is a very vivid demonstration
of the differences in the societies.
And we have also an exhibit on 9/11.
We have the top of one of the
World Trade Center towers.
And the news coverage of that catastrophic
event is -- very much demonstrates, you know,
the differences in the, our
freedoms in our government and those
who would terrorize and destroy
that way of life.
So I think it's very important that our, the
citizens understand not only what the rights are
that they have, which we help educate them
about, but how those rights are protected.
