>> I studied political science with a
business minor in college and then right
after college I worked on the hill for a
senator on the Arms' Services Committee
and from there moved over to the administration
as a political, which is different
than a civilian because you're associated
with the current administration.
>> You mentioned you were on Capitol
Hill before ending up in this job.
How did you get that job on Capitol Hill?
People may say, you know, that
sounds fun, I'd like to do that
but I wouldn't know who to talk to.
How did you get that job?
>> I interned for a local congressman from
Northern Virginia and then I was working briefly
at a lobbying firm and my boss had connections.
He had worked on the hill and he knew.
It's really just word of mouth.
Someone knows someone who knows a position
that's opening and they'll send your resume in.
So the best way to do it, I think is you
need to look on websites though a lot
of stuff never gets posted, the best way is
just to find someone who works on the hill
and give them your resume and ask them to
forward it to anyone they know who knows
of a job opening that could be
in any state or any district
but it's really the easiest way to do it.
